Someone far off in my family died of typhoid in Vienna back in 1931. This was the grave. My family has looked for it for a few decades and unfortunately we have never found it. Posting here on the off chance someone has run into this anywhere.

The Church in Austria keeps track of the Births, Deaths and Weddings in so called Matriken/Kirchenbücher if you know for example his birth year and birthplace you could find the entry for him, or his wedding place and year, and the entries can be quite detailed. You can search online [here](https://data.matricula-online.eu/de/oesterreich/), only some Towns in Austria have uploaded it to the internet.
Sadly a lot of graves have been removed/destroyed/replaced since that time, so it’s not certain that his grave still exists.
There are a few websites to search for graves, though I wasn’t able to find him (Otto Spitz).
For example [https://www.friedhoefewien.at/verstorbenensuche](https://www.friedhoefewien.at/verstorbenensuche)
Unfortunately both “Otto” and “Spitz” are very common names in that time.
Do you have a date of death or a DOB? A location or church would also help.
Unfortunately , without a date of birth or date of death, there are going to be a few “Otto Spitz” in 1930s Vienna
If you think that someone might have put an obituary into one of the local newspapers, you can access them here: [anno.onb.ac.at](https://anno.onb.ac.at)
For anyone to know, Otto Spitz is Jewish but died of Typhoid before the war. So the church archives likely would not help.
I have nothing helpful to add, but: good luck and I hope that you’ll find him.
