Is it just my phone or did CNN crop out half the black woman?
I know very little about art so I assume it’s been ruled out already, but is it possible that it’s a portrait of Dido Elizabeth Belle and her cousin Lady Elizabeth Murray? They were in a portrait together as teens I believe, and very much grew up as sisters. The original portrait of Belle and Elizabeth is quite famous for showing them both ‘at the same level’ and they look remarkably similar.
