Hosting the parents and siblings for xmas for the first time. It add so much extra cleaning and prep, makes me really appreciate all the times it was done for me. Don’t take these efforts for granted.

I made a comment about how my hands and feet are always cold to my soon to be mother in law put an electric blanket on one side of the bed and turns it on whenever we visit.

I’m in my 50s. My mom always prepares oatmeal for me in a heart shaped bowl.
Honestly, I treasure the care she takes-the joy it brings her. I often find myself thinking about the time she takes up think of things to do when I visit.
