The main reason of Lorin Parys to oppose the vaccination campaign is that it goes against the advice of the HGR. But it seems to me that he didn’t really read it.
* Whereas the direct health effect of vaccinating healthy children might be limited, a reduction of infections and transmission in society would benefit children as it would help to prevent school closures and periods of quarantine;
* Infected children can contribute to the spread in schools and within households and to vulnerable groups, therefore the society could benefit from vaccination against COVID19 in this age group;
* Recent modelling data from the SIMID consortium shows that improving vaccination coverage to at least 90% in each age cohort for 18+ has similar potential on hospital and ICU admission compared to introducing widespread vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years (80% coverage), however, adapted social contact behaviour and/or new virus variants and adapted vaccines could substantially impact this finding. A combination of measures is needed.
N-VA is een partij die zuiver gedreven wordt door anti-links ressentiment. Het gevolg is dat met een thema als de pandemie, waar de linkse partijen minder moeite hebbem om de dominante wetenschappelijke inzichten te aanvaarden, ze niet in staat zijn om “gewoon” de wetenschap te volgen, want dan is de perceptie dat ze de linkse ratten volgen. Aan de andere kant zijn ze te intellectueel pretentieus om hardcore anti-vaxxer te gaan, dus dat kan ook niet.
Het resultaat is dan dat ze in principe de wetenschap volgen, maar wel altijd met een opgestoken vingertje of een al te clevere nuance voor de boeg moeten afkomen om voor de peanut gallery te bewijzen dat ze zich niet hebben laten ownen door de linkse ratten, maar tegelijkertijd ook niet zo cringe zijn als de Facebook-intellectuelen die ‘s nachts niet kunnen slapen omdat ze bang zijn dat Soros, de Rothschilds en Bill Gates zich onder hun bed verstopt hebben. Dan krijg je dus dit geval van iemand die het loon van 5 copy-writers verdient en die als amateur het werk van één gaat proberen over te doen, om toch maar iets te vinden om linkiewinkie Marc Van Ranst, en de experts in het algemeen, te counter-ownen.

Vaccinating children has been standard practice since the invention of vaccines.
NVA sabotaging their own govt because populism = votes is ‘koren op de molen van antivaxers’.
Not wanting to side with antivaxers at all here. I and almost all people I know are vaxxed, but the campaigns that run for vaccinating children are, in my opion, ethically wrong.
The vaccination hardly helps the children themselves, but it does help the society as a whole. Saying to parents or children they should get vacinnated to stay healthy is not the advice the EMA gives…

And his claim that immunization from infection is better than vaccination seems to be based on [this twitter-thread](https://twitter.com/TijlDeBie/status/1472923183363858439) which cites [this paper](https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.12.04.21267114v1.full) which hasn’t been peer-reviewed yet and as such should not be used to guide clinical practice (as stated quite clearly in the link to the paper).
