  1. Generally speaking, where the terrain is hilly or mountainous, there will be forests because humans don’t have any other use for this land. Where land is lowland, it is suitable for agriculture, trade and commerce, and so trees are out-competed for human attention by crops. There are of exceptions of course, typically due to cultural or ancient practices (bronze age burning of woodland, livestock (sheep) farming etc.

  2. Thought we were fucked until i saw the UK…. the building of huge armadas to fight for sea supremacy has done no good to our lands.
