Has anyone with eir received this? I can’t call the number because they’ve suspended all services despite my bill for last month being paid and they haven’t even created a new bill for this month.

  1. It’s a scam. Sure the grammar is all over the place. Do the numbers given in that text actually match the official Eir numbers? I’m guessing not.

  4. You may be subscribed to a service that is charging you or may have gone over your Data allowance.

    What plan are you on?

    Essential/Connect Plus/Complete? Or is it a SIMO plan?

    Is it just your phone on the account or are there other phones/services such as broadband?

    Have you gone abroad at all recently?

    Used to work for EIR so might be able to help work it out if you can give me some more info.

  5. Definitely eir. Try messaging them online web chat if you can’t ring them..they may need to upgrade you to an unlimited package if you’re not already on one.

  7. they also have a live chat facility on their website that could answer your questions, and also eircare on twitter are very active and usually get back with account issues quick enough

  9. Judging by their response on twitter, it was definitely sent out by Eir, but in error. Looks like loads of people got cut off that weren’t meant to be.

    I got the high bill text, but thankfully not the suspension of services. I only have a mobile broadband account with them though, not a phone or landline or anything.

  10. Yeah, third time I’ve come back from abroad and been cut off, despite my account being in credit and accepting charges related to data. I’m out of contract and will be switching providers now. They cut you off for 48hrs too, what a fucking joke!

  11. Whenever you get messages about bills, never follow the message link. Instead go to the real website and get a number from there

  12. Had it myself. Got cut off yesterday and rang this morning to see what the fuck was going on 30 minutes to get to an customer credit agent who clearly couldn’t give a fuck. Internal eir issue no apology and when asked when will it be fixed be said maybe 48 hours but hopefully sooner. Phone came back up an hour later. Basically we got billed 3 times and locked our accounts out so he said.

    Once again eir great bunch of lads. Asked about compensation as im a day down on my service missed a few important calls being on call for work and not knowing I was actually cut off was told to ring customer services, said fuck sake another 20 mins on hold. Ill email and see where I get.

  13. Got that myself. Got cut off too.
    On hold for ages today. Had to hang up once, got cut off another time, got through another time after 20 minutes, to a lady calling herself Camilla, she was only interested in taking a other payment from me and hung up on me. Finally got through to someone else, she told me to ignore it, that the same message went out to millions of customers. I told her that I couldn’t ignore it, that it was completely unacceptable, especially as I had been cut off.

  14. My usage cannot go extremely high, speed is so slow, even when they throttled my account when I missed a payment, I never noticed. Unfortunately little choice here regarding who I deal with.
