Young lad had a €10 voucher for Lifestyle and wanted to buy a football. This is honestly what they were looking for. I checked with the staff and the price was real, they raised their eyes to heaven aswell.

  1. I thought they usually keep the authentic rubbish for online only. Like the elite level boots that cost almost 300 quid, they shouldn’t be in shops.

  2. Yeah it’s a professional match ball that’s the same used in the World Cup. There’s cheaper options available. It’s like the people who give out about the price of official club jerseys when there’s replicas available that fans wear.

  3. These balls are match official balls, as in they could be played with in professional matches. Made differently to the cheaper ones, materials and stitching etc. Hence the price

  4. Surprised they have that many pro level footballs, can’t imagine there are too many people walking in buying a ball for €80 never mind €140..

Same as lots of products these days though, you have cheaper entry level and expensive “pro” level. Just buy a cheaper ball

  5. Theres usually a basket with dirt cheap balls. Buying a match rated ball for a kickabout in the park is madness

  6. Yes because that’s the official, fuse welded ball that the pros actually use. If your young lad wanted a ball for a tenner they have those too.

Your argument is the equivalent of going into a specialty kitchenware shop and complaining that the Japanese chef knives are more expensive than the ones in homesavers.
