The ‘Stop the War Coalition’ is this dodgy left-wing advocacy group in the UK that has consistently spoken out against war and foreign policy actions by Western nations and their allies but never once against anti-West powers like Russia, China, Syria, Iran etc.
This is their latest piece, penned by former trade unionist, former Communist Party of Britain leader, former Labour party adviser and current tankie scum Andrew Murray.
Some of the interesting turns of phrase used in this article:
– ‘return Ukraine to Russian sovereignty’ = a delightfully relaxing phrase used here to refer to the violent military expansion by Russia into Crimea
– ‘relatively peaceful’ = referring to Russia’s first invasion of Ukraine, which will no doubt come as a surprise to Simon Ostrovsky of Vice News who was kidnapped and beaten by pro-Putin forces for reporting the violence of the invasion on the ground
– ‘US hegemony’ = this here refers to the democratic mandate of the Ukrainian people to join NATO, as a defensive mechanism against further incursions by Putin. He attempts to draw a parallel Ukraine’s democratic rights, and aggressive imperialist expansionism as practiced by Russia
– ‘ratified by a referendum of the people of the peninsula’ = after flooding Crimea with Russians, Russia then claimed the territory for its own, later holding a referendum as retrospective justification for their actions. .

30 years after the end of the Cold War, the Western left still serve as useful idiots for Russia, even though Russia’s rulers have long since abandoned Communism.
Nations doing things because of national interests instead of kindness of heart, shocking
USA is forcing Russia and China into behaving so aggressively towards their neighbors? Sounding like the good old stalinists from the cold war days.
I like this article. I think it’s time for US to stop their aggressive tendency to force other countries to change their culture and accept Russia. As long as Russia is not a direct threat, US needs to back off.
