Would UEFA still allow all host countries to qualify automatically if there’s 5 different hosts? Has that been addressed yet with all the previous talk about this bid?
I can’t see them doing that. 5 nations automatically qualifying just opens the door to more shite like this in the future. Much prefer a tournament be limited to 1 or maybe 2 countries.
I got it with the last Euros because it was a special occasion (60th year since the first Euros or something like that?), so it was spread around all of Europe. But making multiple hosts a regular thing is just a bit much
I know the only hope we have of hosting a tournament is in this kinda situation but this still doesn’t feel right. Maybe a joint bid but excluding England would feel better.
With this bid, the majority of games are just gonna be in England anyway. The last euros felt like a home tournament for England anyway, giving them basically 2 home Euros in quick succession seems a little unfair
What is England getting out of sharing this? Surely they could easily host solo.
It’s nice to see the UK and Ireland work together on something for a change and although I do not like football, they do say it is football that brings everyone together.
