Sadly they are an unusual exception. Most German environmentalists bitterly fought nuclear energy for decades and they had their “victory demonstration” on the other side of the gate.

Liberals: removing boundries to spy on citizens (fighting encription and digital anonymity), fighting for monopolies in different secotors, crying for subsidies…
Left Wing Party: Support war on Ukraine.

Merkel sacrificed Germany’s NPPs to win state elections against the Greens in Baden-Württemberg. She lost. Literally gambled away key infrastructure for political gain.

yes, finally some protest that makes sense. unfortunately it is decades too late and when coal plants are closed, we will rely on imported electricity – and we won’t care if it is green, grey or carbon from Poland.
I tought environmmentalists were AGAINST the use of nuclear by saying that is too dangerous?
Turns out you really need to look into what you are protesting about.
So NOW you have a problem with muh nuclear. You would rather burn coal for the sake of the environment…
