I’m planning to visit Belgium once again, and I want to schedule it when there’s a festival or event. Thoughts on Rock Werchter? Bedankt 🙂

  1. RW is big so you’ll undoubtfully find some artists you like if festivals are your thing. Keep in min, Saturday & Sunday tickets are already sold out.

Personally I would lean more towards visiting an event such as the Ghent Festival when abroad, since it’s intertwined more with local culture and architecture. It also allows you to come and go as you please since it’s free so you can take a break when you want and lasts 10 days.

  2. It also depends on your musical style. Graspop is awesome, if you’re into metal (and what gravitates around metal)

  3. RW is the biggest pop rock festival with big international names. Gentse feesten is for atmosphere and fun. Tomorrowland is for dance/ techno but already sold out normally. Graspop is the best metal festival. All over Belgium you have small sometimes free city festivals with music during the summer.

  4. Check out Cactus festival in your list! It’s a nice and small festival in a park, good music, good good, nice people, not as expensive as a Werchter.

Werchter is great too, just very very big. When it’s raining or very hot you won’t have the best time.
