The Swiss would trade with the Nazis if it meant they could make profit. They only care about one thing.
The gold trade is a chump change. FT should really look into private bankers and numerous Russian minors/mistresses/LLC’s that own assets in Switzerland but that might piss off real goose that lay golden eggs.

The company is owned by Russians and Arabs, their subsidiary in Abu Dhabi is not subject to the ban imposed by the Swiss government as it doesn’t extend to independent subsidiaries. A questionable decision at the hands of the Swiss regulators for sure, but the “swiss are pure evil” take is a joke.
Switzerland is a real cancer in the heart of Europe.
They sold weapons to Germany. Then they told Germany those weapons can not be used or given to Ukraine because it breaches Swiss Neutrality:

Swiss neutrality means that they cannot send weapons to Ukraine.
Swiss neutrality means they cannot grant re-export to third parties for already sold weapons to be sent to Ukraine.
Swiss neutrality mean they can financially benefit Russia through a third party.
This all probably makes perfect reasonable sense and is very defensible if you are Swiss.
