So for context. When me and my roommate signed the contract they presented us a handwritten contract as well. We didn’t really knew a lot of German back then (plus we were pressured to find a place to live as well). The contract is pretty much saying we should clean the apartment and do “lüften”). Ok, that’s normal, but the landlords (wife and husband) freak out about every dust particle. Last week (I was in vacation) the bathroom flooded because the pipes were clogged with hair, toilet paper and condoms. Aside from the first 2 I’m sure we didn’t throw condoms there(btw they said they will send us the bill) . They might be there from the neighbors upstairs or from the previous tenant. Now they told my roommate they will do this week an inspection in the apartment and I’m pretty sure that’s fucking illegal, but there is that one hand written contract we signed. Is that type of contract void or legal? https://imgur.com/a/C6WXSiW

  1. The linked images are only the Übergabeprotokoll, which looks quite normal. Can you post the contract (without any personal information).

An apartment inspection is most likely illigal. There are only a few valid reason for your landlord to enter your apartment and an inspection is not such a reason.

Does he have the keys to enter the flat? Because he is not allowed to, and you can request ALL keys. Alternatively you can change the looks (and change back if you move out).

How do they know about the dust?

Condoms? You throw condoms into the toilet? Did you admit that the (2) condoms were yours?

With this one I don’t know. Maybe you will have to pay because you cause the damage, maybe not.
