[Context here on a previous post](https://old.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/11gx507/largest_military_exercise_by_the_french_army/) by u/flyingdutchgirll
It will be the last phase of the Orion Exercise and will involve the participation of the equivalent of a whole divison (12,000 soldiers, incuding 1,700 allied troops from 14 countries), 2,600 AFVs, 60 aircraft (including 50 fighter jets), 1 FREMM (reportedly for deep strike support, so likely one of the 6 FREMMs equipped with MdCN standoff land-attack cruise missiles), 40 helicopters, 100 military UAVs, etc…
I believe India is attending with some Rafales
12,000 homies and 1,700 allies, eh?
[Aurora 23](https://www.forsvarsmakten.se/en/activities/exercises/aurora-23/) also begins today. Must be the season for exercises.

Why NATO counties that joined after 1999 aren’t participating in this exercise?
Why did I read French Onion at first

What are we sending?
That explains the 12 low flying military helicopters that flew over me this morning. Always good to find out it’s not actual war.
