The largest national military drill by any European NATO country in decades begins today with the Phase 4 of the French Orion 23 exercise

    It will be the last phase of the Orion Exercise and will involve the participation of the equivalent of a whole divison (12,000 soldiers, incuding 1,700 allied troops from 14 countries), 2,600 AFVs, 60 aircraft (including 50 fighter jets), 1 FREMM (reportedly for deep strike support, so likely one of the 6 FREMMs equipped with MdCN standoff land-attack cruise missiles), 40 helicopters, 100 military UAVs, etc…

  2. That explains the 12 low flying military helicopters that flew over me this morning. Always good to find out it’s not actual war.
