Polish actor Jan Himilsbach could have gotten a role in an American film, but refused to learn English, saying that if the Americans drop him, he’ll have learnt it for nothing like an utter twat.

Typical for this generation of men
We have a phrase in use ” Zostać jak Himilsbach z angielskim.” which means having smth useless.
There are hundreds of anegdotes about Himilsbach, most of which are fake. My favourite is:
Completely drunk Himilsbach once rushed into SPATIF (Association of Polish Theater and Film Artists club) and yelled “Inteligencja, wypierdalać!” / “Intelligentsia, gtfo” (Intelligentsia/intelectuals, in Polish the intelectuals part is more visible than the political views of intelligentsia).
Having heard that Gustaw Holubek (a Polish actor, later politician) took off of his chair and said “I don’t know about you, but I am getting the fuck out”
What a twat
I mean I speak 4 languages and at no point in my life have I thought that any of them Ive learned for no reason…..typical boomer
Poles are not geese and they have their own language
“To drink vodka is to bring the fairy tale element into reality.”
Jan Himilsbach

The quote, probably, originally came from [Mark Hłasko](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marek_H%C5%82asko).
