  1. If the person can be identified they should be banned forever from all GAA grounds. Good to see the players confronted them.

  2. Who in this day and age thinks it’s OK to hurl abuse like that from the sideline?

    Absolute bonkers

  3. What did he say? Was it a bigotry racist abuse or racist stupidity comment that he didn’t think was racist.

  4. I am not going to play tribalism here but I remember attending a Cork – Kilkenny hurling match in Croker years ago. The racism and animal noises deliberately aimed by some young Kilkenny fans at Asaike O hAilpin was quite shocking but it was heartening to see those same youngsters removed from the stands and kicked out into the tunnels by other Kilkenny fans.

  5. Hope the racist is named and shamed. Interestingly if I had not know that player has Asian heritage I honestly wouldn’t have know to look at him as I think he looks on first glance no more different than an average Irish man.

  6. I was at an U13’s hurling match recently and couldn’t get over the abuse being shouted by some of the parents at their own kids.

The father beside me, for the whole game shouting ‘hit the fucking ball Jimmy, fucking hit it, you’re fucking wasting it. Sure, just give it to the other team if you’re just going to waste it Jimmy. FUCK SAKE’

That was directed to his own kid and his wife standing right beside him. He must be a pleasure to live with. The malious and anger.

Their seemed to be more than a few like him too.

I can totally see how they would feel no shame in shouting racist nonsense either.

Some disgusting aditudes in the GAA, and it just seemed to be tolerated.
