Same shit happened with the Zurich flight on Friday evening! Do we know what’s going on?
A go around is a standard procedure, which doesn’t have to be linked to an incident. In this case there was an incident followed by the decision to go around. An investigation will be needed to understand the causes of the incident (technical issue, weather, pilot mistake) and if it was avoidable (the pilot could have gone around before touching?). Moreover, they will investigate if the decision of going around after damaging the left engines was the good one or not (luckily nothing too bad happened). In any case, it’s too early to speculate. Having piloted myself, whatever the cause, I feel sorry for the pilots, this occurrence will be heavy for their mental health.
r/thatwasexpensive . I’m always amazed at how little clearance there is between engines and ground, especially on newest 737 and A340
