I mean, apart from squeezing the shit out of it. Is there some secret Finnish method to getting the last bit of yogurt out of this?

  1. You fold it by specific way and then you can squeeze rest of yogurt.

It is hard to explain, but I’ll try:

Start by pushing two opposing sides toward inside, then create actual fold on these by pushing other two sides together. Create these folds on longer length of sides. Now you notice at the bottom you cannot do the fold, as shape prevents this. Create new perpendicular fold on either unfolded sides about half length of bottom, now you can fold bottom up in this direction, so carton bottom is now visible, and you can finalize first two folds. While you fold these tight from bottom towards up, you can also squeeze rest of contents out. You can add extra folds to squeeze even further.

It is easier when you have not crumbled carton beforehand, so for example carton in your photo can be bit trickier to control where folds align.

  2. What is wrong with squeezing? I hope you aren’t just crunching it up like in the pic. It should be obvious that you cleanly fold the bottom and the sides and then start rolling the package. If you just randomly crunch it up, you won’t get everything out. I feel stupid for even saying this, I dearly hope this isn’t the issue. If it is, I have bad news…

  3. In Holland we have a special plastic tool (€9-) calles “flessenlikker” (bottle licker), you can get all the rest of the yogurt out with it.

  4. In my family, we always cut the carton open in the middle horizontally, and then eat the yogurt that’s inside with a spoon.

  5. Before you pour (or squeeze), you cut it open and use a spoon. If you pour or squeeze, you won’t get everything out.
