Hi! I’d really appreciate any help or suggestion in this matter..

My family and I rented a car in Germany at Frankfurt airport from Sixt. We booked the car in advance online and chose the most expensive package (with full protection, insurance etc). After returning the car we got an invoice that stated a much larger sum than what we had agreed. The extra expenses in the invoice doesn’t make any sense, and just feel like they are made up. This large sum has been now deducted from my credit card – without my permission! I didn’t even know this is legal. They did also charge a deposit fee already when we picked up the car – I don’t really see the point in that, since it seems they can withdraw whatever they want from my card. I did call my credit card company and they said that I should deal with the car rental company, but how?

I have been multiple times in contact with Sixt (no phone number for their office in Germany) but theirs replies are really vague and they don’t answer any questions properly. This feels like a digital dystopia. I have just now started to read the replies at [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.sixt.de?page=4&stars=1) and it is clear that I haven’t been the only one with these experiences.

Does anyone have any tips on what to do next? Who I could or should be in contact with (in Germany)? I am from another EU country.

Appreciate any help!
