First time making Mazurek. How did i do?

  1. Looks like your crust has slightly too much butter and it’s starting to crumble too early (still deliciuos, just harder to handle). The basic rule is 123: 1x sugar, 2x butter, 3x flour (in weight i.e. for example 100g to 200g to 300g etc) + an egg if you want it firmer (highly recommended). You can change proportion between sugar and flour towards less sugar, but increasing butter content makes it ‘unstable’. Nontheless any mazurek is good mazurek (unless you put fried rose petals in it as they sometimes do in Cracow, then it’s an abomination).

  2. Looks nice ;). It seems that the dough is a little too crumbly and breaks on the edges, you could add a bit more butter. Or maybe too long in the oven. But good job for a first time.
