Experts on the LO strike: Wage increase of more than 5% means higher inflation and higher interest

  1. I’m putting this here for the uneducated leftists in this sub who downvoted me yesterday because they think their feelings qualify them for a PhD in economics.

There is only one real solution to the rapid loss of Norway’s purchasing power in this age of deglobalization: Joining the EU (in order to attract investors who will in turn prop up the value of the kroner) and lønnsnemnding LO’s strike. At the very least they need to lønnsnemnd the strike in order to stop things from getting much worse with a big crash in the housing market followed by bank collapses and an economic depression.

Under no circumstances can the employers accept LO’s demands, it will accomplish nothing as far a real wage is concerned and it will hurt our economy badly in the coming months. LO should be lobbying for EU membership instead of having this suicidal strike.

  2. Of course it does.

The bulk of the population cannot get more money, without them actually producing more, without causing some inflation.

For some reason, in Norway, it is always about increasing wages. How about reducing costs instead? You wouldn’t need 5% salary increase if the government policies didn’t cause everything to skyrocket in prices.

Oh well, the only good thing here is that 5% of median income, is much less than 5% of high income, and that debt now is being less and less of a problem.

  3. With the excessive profits for the rich (the counterpart to LO) and the excessive wage increases for the wealthy (the leaders and owners of the LO counterpart), there is no way LO can not demand a real increase in purchasing power for their members.

It is what it is, and what happens will happen.

When those who have much take a lot more, why should the rest show “moderation”?

  4. Pretty sure most people will take the inflation if it means they get paid better, especially those that aren’t paid very well.

As others have pointed out, if the higher ups in the company gets a pay rise, then there is money in the company and it can be used to increase the pay of those further down. The ones that are actually generating the company’s income.

  5. And? We get that anyway, might as well pay us more and give less to the rich. The only reason we are at where we are now is because of greedy people that already have lots of money.

    Eat the fucking rich.
