How is it legal for reports commissioned by government, using our money, on behalf of us, to not automatically be released. I get that the government may want to add something to an appendix of some sort about how they are inspiring it but surely, outside of national security, these reports actually belong to us?

This is exactly as intended, get people into the worst lowest paid job i.e a neurosurgeon as a warehouse assistant. Empower the low paid economy as much as possible, typically terrible jobs with awful bosses/owners with people working there literally just to so they don’t starve to death. These are jobs with typical vast churn as they’re so terrible. Now they have a steady stream of desperate employees so the conditions set by the employers are now secure. No incentive for the employer to create attractive or invest in working conditions so more profits retained.
Meanwhile better jobs get starved of the human capital they need bringing standards down to the lower denominator.

They managed to find me a job at a postal service. I felt like I was doing pretty well there. Anyways they sanctioned me for reasons I can’t remember and told me I was no longer hired by the postal service because of it.

Sometimes you might make hard decision, using pragmatism, to make things better in the long run. That was the justification. The conservatives pretend to use logic rather than emotion to make these hard decision. Tories are so much more about “emotions” and feelings to make choices.

If they were consistent, sensible sanctions for consistently failing on your responsibilities and communicated as the punishment they are then more people would probably be in agreement with them. However, if one late appointment instantly removes a sizeable portion of your benefits and then it’s dressed up in some bullshit about ‘helping to encourage’ rather than the plain punishment and cost-saving exercise it clearly is then that’s what fucks most people off imo… .the lies and bullshit around their reasons for doing it in the first place, and the lack of redress or reason if someone is sanctioned for a one-off event. By all means punish the parents that hardly ever make sure they’re kids are in school, do the same for someone who never turns up for an appointment… but a one off? I often see them waltzing around the supermarket in their “chairs of wheels” splashing out on an entire loaf of bread, that’s right, unsliced. Everyone knows that you become unemployed because there is something wrong with you, and as such you should be immediately killed. I know it may sound harsh but realistically the moment you are not in work, you are just leeching off the state so that’s why we have the mandatory employment monitoring so that you can present yourself to the jobcentre gas chamber to be euthanized.

And once you take a sanction to a tribunal they’ll bareface lie to multiple tribunal judges about what they’ve done, and it’s now all on the court record
Therese coffey was secretary of state for the DWP at the time and signed off on carrying out a campaign of harassment for the past 5 years, that is still continuing, she would have to have signed off on it as that is the process in their internal documents.
They’ve lied to tribunal judges about doing it, they’ve lied about the reasons for a compliance meeting, they’ve claimed to have lost all paperwork and statements made during those meetings, their presenting officer a Nick Keys refused to comply with multiple judges directions over many months, and when the tribunal office finally complied they provided information completely unrelated to what was demanded, the local team leader and jobcentre manager have barefaced lied and refused to engage with their own legal team and presenting officers.
And to top it all off, they’re now refusing to have any kind of in person meetings to assist my job search.
You sanction people so they now can’t afford that bus pass or train fare to their job.. are we shocked? No.
