Hi! I saw this hanging in a bush by the roadside in the UK. Can anyone tell me what’s going on here given the Bulgarian colours!? There seem to be almonds attached to the top right, in case you can’t see it clearly.
Tl;dr – its a bulgarian tradition for when March comes. They are for good luck and health during the new year. They are removed when you see the first signs of spring(storks, blooming trees, etc.) and they are tied to blossomming trees so the owner is as healthy and blossoming as the tree it’s tied to and the new year is productive(agriculturally).
