After killing almost all the insurgents (only [one of the leaders](https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/marek-edelman) survived) and sending all the civilians to the death camps, the Germans methodically destroyed every single building in the ghetto (apart from [one church](https://www.reddit.com/r/HistoryPorn/comments/g4qcwz/st_augustins_church_among_ruins_of_warsaw_ghetto/)). It was nominally part of the so called [Pabst plan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pabst_Plan) for making Warsaw a provincial town, which after another rising in 1944 was turned up to 11 but thankfully by then the Reich was running out of everything including time and resources and they managed to blow up “only” 80% of the left-bank (main) part of the city.
Still, looking at the picture, I can’t help thinking the Jewish insurgents managed to drive the Nazis even more mad.
