Shorter life expectancy gives UK pensions an unexpected windfall

  1. My grand kids miss their grandma everyday.
What moral void have we fallen into when greedily making virtue of counting the money falling from the pockets of people dying?

  2. A temporary blip due to Cancer deaths from COVID coming through. Will return to trend in the coming years which was stagnation.

A blip of 6 months is most likely explained by a significant number of deaths at 20-50 years

  3. Tories: *We have improved quality of life post-retirement!!*

Yeah, cause people are going to die within a couple years of retirement, you fucking cunts. I hate that thesepricks won’t be around to see the culmination of the fuck up they have caused.

They will never have to face the consequences for their decisions.

  4. It’s absolutely disgusting that the Tories are celebrating the fact that people are dying younger, just because it benefits their bottom line. This is what happens when you have a government that only cares about profit over people. It’s clear that Britain is becoming the next Russia under the Tories, where life expectancy is plummeting and inequality is skyrocketing. We need a complete overhaul of the system and a government that actually cares about the health and wellbeing of its citizens, not just their wallets.

  5. Time to move somewhere else! Except if you working in government, or you’re a dodgy tax payer with few LTD’s, rest of us working 6 or 7 days, yeah I am soooo looking for my retirement!

  6. Maybe im cynical but I feel like young people would rather just die then live like a slave to some shitty country for 70 years

  7. The Tories have managed to make things to dire that they’ve reduced our life expectancy, and the media manage to spin it to sound like a good thing. I’m so proud of “great” Britain right now

  8. As a 30 year fella, I do not expect to enjoy retirement. Just work until I drop dead or kill myself to avoid freezing to death in my 80s. Pensions are likely to become a very hard to achieve dream and even harder to live on. Unless i win the lottery, my current retirement plan is to work until I am 90. Quit when I’m 91 if someone pisses me off and i guess, die a day aftewards.

Or the tory cunts find a way to keep us working past death.

  9. Financial Times sugar coating it a bit;

“one of the biggest falls in life expectancy in a decade”

    Translated to the truth,

“The largest fastest EVER fall in life expectancy outside of world wars”

  10. The Tories could bring life expectancy down to 45 and British people would still vote for them. They’d just think “yeah but they’re not talking about my life expectancy, they’re talking about someone else’s”.

  11. The cynical part of me wonders if this is the reason the government had such a lacklustre response to COVID.

The way it was going at one point, every week was saving them millions a year in pensions, by killing off old people 10 years earlier.

  12. Have you tried “kill all the poor”? I’m sure the computer will say “no, it wouldn’t help to kill all the poor” and we can say no more about it
