If Internet rumours are to be believed she was the boys foster mother. What a horrendous moment for all of his and her loved ones.
So when it’s a minor, we’re *finally* charging things like this with murder. But if it’s an adult – suddenly it’s just ‘causing death by dangerous driving’

Going by the usual punishment for killing by car, I’m going to say he gets a 5 year driving ban and a stern talking to.
This is absolutely outrageous. A twelve-year-old boy charged with the murder of a 60-year-old woman in Sheffield? What is this world coming to?
We need to start taking discipline seriously in this country. I’m talking about bringing back smacking to prevent attacks like this from happening in the first place. It’s time to stop coddling children and start holding them accountable for their actions.
And when it comes to this particular case, a life sentence plus hard labour seems like the only appropriate punishment. We can’t just let a child get away with murder, no matter how young they are. This is a heinous crime and it demands serious consequences.
My heart goes out to the victim’s family. No one deserves to lose a loved one in such a senseless and violent way. It’s time for us to stand together and demand justice for all victims of crime, no matter their age or background.
Really tragic, having been through the care system there, it’s so much easier for things to break down than people think. Not enough intervention and support for kids or carers, most social workers end up disillusioned with the whole thing.
Isn’t murder the most serious charge and doesn’t that indicate there was some pre-planning to it then, if that’s what they are charging him with?

Couldn’t this also be an accident? A young boy trying to drive a car and then running someone over unintentionally? Lots of people in the comments here talking as if we know for sure that he premeditated this.
