Labour really don’t want to win this election, do they?
Things like this make me think about how David Cameron stood up in the Commons and told everyone that Corbyn was a threat to your children.
And how it’s considered okay to say shit like that in parliament but it’s not okay to call someone a liar.
I’m waiting for this ad
“Do you think labour can win the next election?
Ricky sunak doesn’t!”
Labour taking on the Tories on its home soil over Law and Order?
They don’t like it ‘up em’ do they?
There is a mountain of things that Labour could use to attack the tories without resorting to personal attacks on Rishi Sunak.
Bad move, imho.
I have no problem with them running these ads, but I’m just not sure what profile of person they are going to work on. Maybe a few.
For one thing, I’m 100% sure that Sunak believes that adults possessing a gun with intent to harm should go to prison. Mostly because… everybody does.
Labour should be focusing 100% of their campaigning on the effect of, “Tory fatigue”.
If they placed an ad in every city centre that just said…
“Tired of this shit now? Vote Labour”, they’d be fully sorted with the electioneering.
Great to see Labour playing hardball.
The Tories and their mates in the media have been doing this for a long time.
Well ratty horse face Sunak is at it all the time.
Tories are never out the gutter blaming all their cock up on everyone else.
So why should Labour not.
Labour need to really go hard on the rule breaking during covid. From memory they were doing ok in the polls until partygate. Thats what turned people against them.
Gun crime in the UK seems pretty small fry outside of big cities.
It’d be better if they said things like “worried about the heating costs for an indoor swimming pool? Richie Rish isn’t”
“Like billionaires telling you what to do? Vote Richie Rish!”
“14 years of austerity…at least he’s got something to smile about”
“He’s friends with everyone…well, not the working class”
I do wonder if the media outrage says one thing while the data says something else.
I loathe this sort of campaign but what if it works really really well? Depressing.
I mean, I shed no tears for the Tories getting a taste of the dogshit we’ve all been force fed by them for years, but isn’t this a depressing sign of how low they’ve brought the bar?
I mean, all the Tories have to do to fend this attack off his point their fingers at Sadiq Khan’s tenure as Mayor of London and say rising crime in the city happened under his watch
It doesn’t really look good but fuck the Tories. They should get as good as they give.
Sunak believes all of that though. What he does not believe in is properly funding the police service nor the justice system to make those a reality. You’d be an idiot to think the Tories want criminals wandering free, they would love nothing more than to see them locked up (preferably in a private prison they can make money from), however they refuse to put the sort of spending required on government books that would make prison a reality for criminals.
These last two appalling smears will do them more harm than good. The right wing media will forget all the Tory slurs and go for Labour. More to the point: The idiots are targeting their smears on relatively minor issues. The one’s staring them in the face are so far being ignored vis: inflation, NHS, mortgage increases, lack of housing, education, child care & nursery places. They are bloody fools if they think people care less about these day to day issues.
Do we really need gutter politics? Labour could and should raise the debate by not pandering to the lowest common denominator. The Johnson years are over, let’s have rational debate not emotive slurs.
Is there even a law called ‘possessing a gun with intent to harm’?
Yeah I’m not voting for this Labour Party under Starmer. Never voted anything but labour for over 20 years. This current version of it is just disgusting. Starmer would sell his own children to be PM.
The Tories or anyone involved with conservatives politics for the past decade can hardly complain. They opened the floodgates for this type of politics to become acceptable.
How about we blame the judges. Politicians don’t decide sentences…
Ever since Blair, Labour have had a fetish for American style sentencing. Law and order is another policy area where the mainstream parties are tired and have nothing new to add.
Tories should just toughen up tbh. Whining is not a vote winner
>Zero eyelids battered when the fat feckin slob Johnson accused Starmer of protecting Saville, attacking Tory Scum fine by me, truth does tend to hurt doesnt it
Sunak will lose the election in any case, better for Labour to say nought. But the Sunak adverts seem accurate, it’s a case of if the cap fits, wear it.
This is a great way to get borderline Tory voters. I am on the fence after being strong Tory and ads like this make me think labour is not something I can support.
I would like to be an adult in possession of a gun, and I would have intent to harm someone who broke into my house.
So much less effort than training a dog or having to beat someone with a bat or stab them with a kitchen knife.
It’s a bit funny, easily can argue due to starmers work history, he has had a better chance of changing laws….yet never pushed this at the time.
Don’t like labour or Tories but calling this “gutter politics” when the current government has been literally arse fucking the public with corruption is just comical.
Sure would be nice if they focused these attack ads on all the shit the Tories have actually done instead of this nonsense.
They are all as bad as each other and nothing more than a bunch of hypocrites
