  1. I didn’t realise that overcrowding was that big of a thing.

    There was this live count website that showed the number of prisoners in each prison daily. I can’t seem to find it now, but the last time I checked it, it seemed that most prisons were running at about 80-90% capacity.

    I guess either their numbers for “maximum” were wrong, or else their has been a surge over the last few months.

    Sounds like we need another prison either way.

  2. Get Gerry Hutch in there…. ..he cleaned up the place he was in to the point it was drug free.

  3. There’s some well orchestrated timing between this article and the current citizens’ assembly on drugs.

    He’s spot on about poverty and marginalisation, nobody who grew up in a relatively well adjusted home, can really imagine it.

    Simple solution:
    1. Rehab and health support for addicts.
    2. Prison for dealers above a certain level
    3. Capital punishment for the kingpins & smugglers (yes bring it back)
    4. Community programs to reduce use

    Now if we only had houses to live in . . . .
