Any drug can be seriously addictive to an individual, each addict can be different, just look at alcohol for some. Some find it fine to have a drink, others not so much. You cant just blame 1 or a handful of substances and just label them ‘drugs’
Its addiction and the reasons behind why someone would get addicted need to be thought/educated and discussed more. More importantly at an early age too
Someone can be trying to cope with trauma for many many years and they dont know it, could be depression of some kind, could even be some medical condition like ADHD, but when someone then tries a drug for the first time while suffering and the relief they get from their illness changes things for them positively they slowly become addicted without knowing whats really wrong with them. Things can improve for them at early stages so they continue to use more and more thinking life is better untill things change for the worse
They can easily blame the drug and sometimes without ever knowing or understanding what is truelly wrong with them beyond addiction to a substance
The reasons why someone would choose to use a harmful substance needs to be focused on more, decriminalisation would severely help this research, we need to stop shaming users, encourage more to talk and provide more, way more help and services
My sister has a friend living in London(she’s from Carlow) and she’s a serious cokehead. They’ve tried to get her to stop, but she never listens. The lying and manipulation the girl does is incredible.
This guy is amazing. He’s completely turned his life around. I hope he stays clean and healthy.
