Wow just 200 out of 32k, incredible such huge systemic problems are caused by such a tiny percentage of police /s
Well it is good that they have started to address these things. It certainly shows it was a good idea to get rid of dick. It is a shame that this situation has been allowed to develop by successive chiefs and Home Secretaries.
>Sir Mark said it was right that a criminal conviction shouldn’t automatically block recruitment, especially for trivial or teenage offences, but the exclusion bar should be raised nationally.
It should arguably be the same as it is for police and crime commissioners. Which is more or less any conviction is a ban.
If they can find 200 in such a short space of time, how were *they* not picked up on at application, or during probationary, or by performance reviews?
It’s a start, I suppose, but 1/10, try harder.
After just having a scroll through the police UK subreddit it doesn’t sound like there gonna have any one left with people leaving stripped budgets no resources and now this.
Obviously we need to route out bent cops but they need to be replaced. What a worrying time to alive in the UK.
Can’t see a doctor can’t get an ambulance can’t talk to the cops can’t afford to eat can’t afford rent and mean while our Tory over lords continuing tightening the thumb sceres and pressing down harder with the boot.
Seriously? Only NOW they’re trying to get rid of the scum? The Met is just full of rapists and creeps hiding behind a badge. We need a complete overhaul to kick them all out and protect the public. Disgusting how they’ve been allowed to roam free for so long
I hope those 200 are in senior positions. You don’t get a failing police service from the PCs only
Does it make sense when they understaffed.
They should be trained
Why didn’t they get rid of this small percentage of bad apples when they cut 20,000 police over the last decade?
call me crazy, but shouldn’t the people who were supposed to vet and hire qualified candidates also face dismissal? It starts with management.
