I see this shit almost on a daily basis. This is truly infuriating.

Should give these idiots jail time. They’ll never learn otherwise. The impact of shit like this is too big on society to allow it to continue (a shocked train driver and a total of 10 hours in delays in this case). All because this braindead person has no patience or wasn’t raised right.
Maar toch, 10u vertraging? Damn.

That said, I have often stood in front of a closed train crossing for 10+ minutes just because there was a train arriving in the station 2km away. I always wondered why the crossing had to close so long in advance, why they couldn’t just close it when the train was departing.
I would never consider crossing a closed crossing but waiting for a train that doesn’t appear to be coming can be very frustrating (and it would cause massive congestion issues).
