Poland Would Partner With Romania and Ukraine to Tip the Balance of Power in Europe

  1. Poland is no shape or form to lead anything or anyone. The country is facing an economic collapse with rigged economic data and no oversight over spending. The article sounds like a pipe dream of someone who does not know the reality of a state regime that tries its hardest to remain in power at any cost.

  2. Can someone elaborate on the source? Because it sounds to me like this article wants to poison the outlook on Ukraines EU membership, by making it as disagreeable as possible for “western europe”.

  3. What does shifting the balance even mean? East europa has more smaller countries who obviously all have more power per capita than the large west european countries because they have more MEP per capita and obviously because there is one veto per country.

Are they trying to become net payers? Poland and hungary are already very familiar with using the veto to extract more concession.

  4. To anyone interested – chill and get ready. There’s general elections happening in Poland this autumn, a lot more of weird statements to come from Polish politicians in near future 😅

  5. It is quite peculiar case – polish government is making propaganda that is opposite to real agenda. Ie. official rhetoric was always anti-russian, meanwhile we’ve been one of the largest clients for russian oil(which is the largest source of income for Putin). They also have strong anti-german rhetoric while business with Germany is growing every year and nothing seems to be slowing down. They have anti-Israel rhetorics while Israel is basically ideological twin brother of Poland.

  6. I’m with Poland with this one. If we truly want more united and stronger Europe, than we should make all our voices equal and leave behind this idea that only France or Germany can lead Europe. We need European Federation/Union/States, not French or German empires.

  7. Could happen, but lets be real, Ukraine has to win the war and rebuild itself before its ready to throw its weight around when it comes to Europe.

Also I note this is from ‘Hungarian Conservative dot com’ so this is either being written to scare Hungarians in general… or just one conservative Hungarian.

  8. I welcome Eastern European countries in the EU (hopefully Ukraine soon), to counterbalance the west. We all share the same democratic values.

This can’t be at the expense of democracy or an independent judiciary.

I look forward to a post PiS Poland.

  9. tbh a Poland – Romania aliance made a lot sense to me but I’m still not sure if Poland is interested.
