“The military contingent of the Russian Federation, deployed in the Transnistrian region as part of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, has violated the Security Zone regime several times, according to the Reintegration Policy Office in Chisinau.

The institution says that the movement of armoured military equipment outside the range of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces’ posts between February and April this year was involved, RadioMoldova.md reports.

The Unified Control Commission met today in a weekly meeting in Bender, MOLDPRES reports with reference to the Reintegration Policy Office in Chisinau.

Discussions continued on the illegal posts of Transnistrian force structures and the need to remove them from the Security Zone.

The Moldovan delegation addressed the repeated cases of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces’ posts, with the unjustified stopping of citizens’ means of transport, in particular those held by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Republic of Moldova.

The Moldovan delegation called for the exclusion of similar cases in the future.

In a statement, the representatives of Chisinau also pointed out violations of the Security Zone regime by the Russian military contingent of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces. Such cases were established between February and April of this year and were expressed by the movement, uncoordinated with the Unified Control Commission, of armoured military equipment outside the range of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces posts.

It was pointed out that the incidents had repercussions in society and amplified the discontent of the inhabitants of the Security Zone who are regularly subjected to unjustified stops with excessive checks on documents and transport units.

The Moldovan delegation considers this defiance of the peacekeeping mission’s documents to be provocative and calls on the Russian military contingent to refrain from destabilising actions and to contribute to the preservation of peace on the banks of the Dniester.”

  2. Oh crap, i hope they aren’t really thinking of opening another front in Moldova, which is literally between nato and their current enemy.
