Image taken on 16 August 2017, when HMS Queen Elizabeth entered Portsmouth for the first time.
Also visible is HMS Diamond, HMS Victory, HMS M.33 and the Mary Rose museum
Britannia rules the waves no more…what a tragic decline.
Three flagships. Queen Elisabeth.. Victory and Mary Rose. (Under the roof bottom right)
Makes you wonder what Nelson would’ve given for QE at Trafalgar.
We did that in the Netherlands too. There was a replica of an old East India ship next to the naval base with modern frigates. But they’ve moved the base to another city
Who is that old girl in the bottom right?
Oh, wow ! HMS Victory was *huge* at her time, and now it looks so small… This picture tells a lot about naval construction.
