Three people will be tried in September for flipping off and insulting Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Alsace on Wednesday. They will appear on “prior recognition of guilt for outrage toward a public authority agent”.

  1. I expect that once these horrible traitors are punished the people commenting on Reddit and disagreeing with Macron will be dealt with. We can’t have people going online and posting stuff against Jupiter himself.

  2. He and his peeps are going after tiny people like these and that person for defamation. Not big people, little people.

  3. Flipping is illegal, beating pans and calling Macron names is illegal. Question for French people – were these types of acts always illegal in France and is being enforced now under Macron or has Macron changed the laws while he’s been President?

  4. I will boldly say what I think: Macron is a doodoohead and I politely disagree with its politics…

Oh crap it’s the police, goodbye everyone.

  5. And to think that LePen is said to be … and gives off that vibe … much, much worse in this aspect and a russian puppet to boot. I always thought that hot daddy Macron was pretty democratic. His most recent public displays are pretty strange. Is it because it’s his last term ? Would people vote for his party and its next candidate when he behaves like that though ?

  6. What kind of democracy is this? Almost half of the country said crazy things about Trump for 4 years in here.

  7. Why are euros surprised? Same shit is illegal in many country one of them being Germany where insulting ANYONE can be illegal and prosecuted.

It’s so fun watching Europeans who for years tried to ban shit as offensive speech and hate speech have pickachu face when it is used against them.

This is why i always laughed at Germans criticising Turkey for getting in trouble for insulting the president when in their own country you can get in trouble for insulting anyone.

  8. Freedom of speech is a fundamental right and should overrule this pettiness.

Anyone knows whether this trial can, in France, in fact lead to a punishment of those flip-offers?

  9. Are we going to get a link in this sub to literally every Google news result with the keyword “Macron” from here until 2045?

  10. In Canada and USA you can flip who ever you want.

Its called freedom of expression and a human right but not in France apparently.

  11. Compare that to Tony Abbott (admittedly, in opposition at the time) laughing off being called a dickhead to his face.

  12. Remember when europeans were ranting about lack of democracy and human rights in Arab/Gulf countries and Turkey? Guess they are not that different

  13. i refuse to take any nation with lese majeste laws seriously. This is not only retarded, it is making republicans look good.

  14. Ahhh so that’s why Macron loves Putin and Xi so much, apparently the French have some authoritarian-esque laws, nice.

  15. Macron is an egotistical cry baby. The last couple of years really showed that. Hes also a china sympathizer. F him
