Yeah, straight from the top of my dome
As I rock, rock, rock, rock, rock the microphone.

Couldn’t they align the tree with the square and the obelisk?
Or does that mess with reception from god?
The rain water pipes must be really complicated.
Roma: Urbs Aeterna.
I have a question and i hope you give an honest answer: Are you a pigeon?
What are the paddle-like things?
I hope this is not bird shit all over
The view is great but what I like the most is the way up there. At some point you’re going up the stairs in the curved part of the dome and the corridor starts leaning to one side so you basically have to walk at an angle. Also super scary when it goes through the balcony inside and you can see the tiny people below in the church.
Many years ago I used to work in Rome for weeks at a time.
I would stay in a hotel at the bottom right of this picture and every morning I would walk through the square and down the Main Street then cross over the bridge to the right opposite the castle on my way to work.. Spent many nights drinking and smoking in the moat of the castle.
I miss those times badly.
Feels like Ass Creed.
what a lovely place full of scammers and tourists
Visited in spring of 2016. Really is something else from up there
St. Peter is such a magical building. Here I stumbled upon a [tour that shows the entire St. Peter inside and route to the dome](https://youtu.be/ua_lEuQguIA).
Oy ezio ,get the fuck down !
You can see the while enclave!
Non vedrai altra cosa al mondo maggior di Roma
I was in this exact spot a week ago today… Now I have covid 🙁
Fun fact: the street from the square to the river was created in the 1930s. Originaly the square was enclosed.
did you go up in the elevator or did you take the stairs seeing all the details of the construction and paintings? I took the stairs.
Rooftop phonebooths to improve connection to the big man up on the clouds. Nice.
Totally disconnected question, does anyone know the name of those trees on the right side of the image, whose crowns make this flat thatch? I once had been in a garden, during night hours, with those as a literal roof many metres up, glowglobes all over. One of the prettiest sights in my life, though I never found their name out.
Look at that beautiful Passetto di Borgo
For me, the most vivid memory of looking down from the top of St. Peter’s was seeing the Sistine Chapel roof. I mean, everyone talks about the Sistine Chapel ceiling, but how would that look today without a well-maintained roof? If I were ever elected Pope, the first question I’d ask after the smoke cleared would be, “Who’s looking after that roof?”
It kinda looks like a penis.
Climbing the dome was one of the worst experience of my life as a claustrophobic person. The reward is great, the view is incredible on top of the dome, but I really thought I would die there…
And there is no sign to warm you that you have to climb hundreds of steps in extremely narrow corridors.
But great picture!!
I miss Rome, what an awesome city.
On a clear day you can see all the way into another country from up there.
Is it just me who can’t handle a leaning horizon?
Since when is the church cool with pagan Yule trees? They didn’t do that in the 400’s!
Is that Dave I can see down there?

You have both balls, and a good picture there
That boulevard right there, Via della Conciliazione, is [the deed of Mussolini](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Via_della_Conciliazione#Mussolini_and_Rome). It has had its fair share of critics, not sure how Romans view it nowadays.
Freestyler! Strait from the top of my dome…
Are those… candlesticks?
Rome is the most beautiful city in the world
