As an American who got Maltese citizenship through descent, I really feel so proud to hold dual citizenship with a country that has really changed so much for the better in recent years. When I first got my citizenship my parents were angry I wanted to leave America. Now they say they want to leave and live in Malta! They went from “USA USA USA” to “get us out of here” in 3 years. Shows how bad it’s gotten in the US. Im not sure they’ll ever truly leave but it’s noticed in the US too.
