EXCLUSIVE: New poll gives Labour astonishing six-point lead over the Tories after No10 party

  1. Tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths, constant lying, rampant corruption, constant lying, all of the misery of Brexit, constant lying, Barnard Castle, constant lying, racism, constant lying, refugee hatred, constant lying, complicity in Russian interference, constant lying, refusing to feed hungry children, constant lying, the social care crisis, constant lying, rampant authoritarianism, constant lying, rivers of literal shit, and all the lying? Tory voters are happy with those.

But a Christmas party? No, *there* is the line.

  2. Wow, such forensic electability on Mr Keith Starmer’s end.

The six point lead says a lot more about how terribly he’s doing as Labour leader, especially when you look at the mountains of scandals this Tory government has been through.

Corbyn, Miliband, Brown or even Blair would’ve been thirty points ahead at this point. Heck, Michael Foot would’ve done a better job…

Not that the lead matters because we have another three years of this bullshit to wait through. Plenty of time for the British public to either forget this all happened or for Boris to gerrymander his way to another ten years of Tory power.

  3. Polls three years from an election are meaningless. Plenty of time for Boris to fuck it up further, but also plenty of time for people to forget or be distracted from the corruption.

  4. So about the same leads Corbyn was getting 4 years ago, except the centerists weren’t calling them astonishing then, they were saying any other leaders would be twenty points ahead

  5. Sums this sub up perfectly that the supposed Labour supporters here can’t even just be pleased with this

And that sums up why Labour never end up getting elected.

  6. Lots of people are witnessing what a managed democray looks like. As the top comment pointed out, all the corrupt shit that has happened in the Tory party and the media collectively moves due to a blood christmas party.

It shows how much of a joke our system is. When the powers that be decide they’ve had enough of the PM, they move collectively to oust him. Will it be to put Keir Starmer in power for more corporate sponsored liberalism (and I mean this literally as anyone can look at who his donors are) or will it be to propel a new Tory face into power?

Who knows. Just know it would never, ever happen if a legit left of centre leader was in charge of labour. By left of centre I mean a person who’d use the power of the state to challenge inequality and use a degree of economic planning to address climate change and the housing crisis – none of which were carried out by New Labour.

  7. I don’t think you would see that size swing if there was an election tomorrow, but anecdotally a number of very right leaning individuals in my family have been laying into the conservatives non stop since the Christmas party news came out.

What has been interesting is that they have swung back to a number of old controversial stories, which they had originally ignored, in order to carry on the bashing.

  8. Slow and steady with stupid – eventually, they will realise the way they should have voted – in their own fucking interests!

  9. And due to gerrymandering and FPTP they need a 12 point lead to win an election due to the fact they won’t cooperate with other parties. I don’t like this version of Labour but not voting for them is like saying you don’t want water sprayed all over your house because it will make everything wet when your house is on fire. The Conservative government have screwed everything all so their backers can earn some extra money. They have to go.

  10. Great. The red idiots will beat the blue idiots then. Can we try the orange idiots next please? At least they’re going to legalise cannabis.

  11. January, something will surface about Labour or Starmer or someone high up in Labour… and this lead will vanish

  12. Last election was the first time I could vote. Voted conservative as didn’t think it was principally correct that Brexit got the majority vote yet labour didn’t want to fulfil that (regardless if it was good or bad). Don’t think I’ll be doing the same now, and probably a few who are more in the middle will do the same

  13. Says a left leaning paper with vested interests… of course it does.

They’re just as bad as the right wing media… With vested interests.

Printed media should be made obsolete. It’s nothing more than a Popularity contest to see who can print the most sensationalism and sell the most papers.

Printed news media is a business…. When you can grasp that.. then you’ll see through the lies.

Fuck the Tory party and labour and the rest of them. It needs massive reform and made alot fairer. FPTP isn’t fair. But they won’t change it because it works for *them*

The Turkeys *always* vote for Christmas.

  14. It’s crazy that what it took to anger Tory supporters is a party…. But all the other despicable shite they’ve done is fine

  15. Won’t matter. Tories could murder a puppy every day on TV and 30% of our servile population would still vote for them

  16. I’m not sure Rayner and co are the answer but Johnson isn’t fit to rule.

I quite like Rishi but can’t shake the seriously pungent snake vibes he gives off. He’s in it for himself no doubt.

Honestly I can’t think of a single person from either party with a realistic shout anyway who is actually worthy of the office of PM.

I’d say looking across all the major nations, in my lifetime the only worthy leader I’ve seen is Obama.

  17. Doesn’t matter tories are just going to ditch Boris and pretend to be a completely new Conservative party and nothing like the previous Conservatives and nowhere near as bad as the last Labour government and the press will let them get away with it, because like hell is the torygraph or any of the other right wing press is going to ever say vote Labour.

  18. I’m glad about all of this as a man who has hatred for conservatives in his veins, but there’s one thing bothering me about all this.

People have been letting this government get away with far worse shit than the gov throwing a Christmas party. I’m sure a lot of people still had Christmas parties despite the rules so you’d expect the Tory voter to be able to excuse this one, also.
They excused Boris misleading the queen, a lack of resolve over Grenfell – which still turns my stomach to this day, the prorouging of parliament to blatantly avoid democratic scrutiny, the many lies of Brexit, the cronyism and corruption… What is it about a Christmas party which is actually breaking through to the tory voter?

And yes, I know this is about trust and honesty and not a Christmas party, but you get my point.

Why now are people seemingly turning on the Tories when they’ve been allowed to do whatever they want up until now? What really changed? I think you’ll find that this will soon blow over and a lot of opinions are going to be short lived.
