I hope people are observing the specific kinds of character assassination that happen to those who challenge the current orthodoxy; either by revealing their past corruptions or by pointing out the blatant contradictions propping up the economic status quo.
There’s always an angle that appeals to the social conservative and another angle that’s designed to get more liberal minded people united against those who stand for truth.
With Assange they branded him as a woman-hating rapist (albeit one of the women has rescinded her claim now, saying she was coerced into it) to sway the liberal crowd, and as a “terrorist” and a “threat to national security” to bring the more conservative person on-board.
With Corbyn he was a Europe hating anti-semite to sway liberal minded people, and also a terrorist sympathising Britain hater to sway the conservative minded person.
The same game being played out year in and year out for about a century now. In order to improve things we need to collectively point this stuff out in the moment, rather than realising it retrospectively.
Assange is a terrible journalist, and as a leaker has bad infosec.

Every cop judge and lawyer involved in this are peeing away already stretched thin resources to keep daddy America happy, they should their head in shame. Or just hang themselves in general, seeing as it will make no difference to fighting actual crime happening in and to the UK
