These are probably original Japanese cherry trees.
A lot of municipalities in Belgium have been gifted cherry trees from the Japanese embassy. As a counter gift a lot of Japanese towns have Belgian apple trees lining their streets.
There was a big beautiful cherry blossom tree in my childhood neighborhood which has been cut unfortunately 🥲

My street is lined with the Japanse kerselaar on both sides, just beautiful this time of year!
If you go to the Japanse Tuin in Hasselt, we have that as well!
Apple trees are now also flowering. It’s beautiful
Place Belgium:…
Place Japan: Excited Wojak.
No but for real this year seems to be great for the Cherry blossoms. It’s not too cold and there is enough rainfall for the trees to blossom.
Hardly anyone seems to stop and look at them though, at least in Brussels. A shame. You do see some local Japanese people with their kids doing hanami though.

Nice 👍 Heel mooie
That’s at the Bijloke
We used to have one of these in our backyard. Absolutely beautiful tree but the cleanup from it was massive each year.
There’s also a cherry blossom in my neighbour’s backyard but it’s ok the border of our backyards so it’s practically mine too
I have one in my street aswell, they are dope af
They used to have lots of cherry blossoms on Avenue des dammes blanches in WSP, but for some reason that I am not aware of, they cut them down and removed them all :sob:
The whole Av. du Diamant and Av. des Cerisiers in Schaerbeek are in bloom, it’s really beautiful :))
In Bruges also a lot. And Schaarbeek. All around
Beautiful!
Welcome, today i introduce to you: imported invasive exotic species that don’t do shit for nature but are pretty so we plant them in large quantities!
