I also want to add the rest of the conversation was about if it was possible to run PUBG mobile on it and if I wanted to try it out just in case. That made it feel more legit, but I’m still a bit weirded out by the fact that I have to bring it to him to a so far undisclosed location
You are the seller, you set the terms. If people do this shady stuff, it’s best to trust your gut and not do it.
I would not go. If they want to buy and test it they can come to you. There is something fishy about this.
He does not speak french or dutch and very bad English as far as I can tell.
I would be careful. But that is just me. I have no patience when it comes to selling things and having people like this contact me.
Personnally, I wouldn’t deliver to the buyer, especially if the location is known only few hours before the exchange… It is better to sell the phone with Cash Converters or to someone else.
Yeah, don’t do it. Something feels off.
Why would the seller listen to the buyer? Dont go man, if he so urgently want/need your phone he comes and get it from you.
Do you really need to ask if you can trust a stranger who keeps calling you bro?
He meets you in a parking lot, grabs the phone out of your hands, and fucks off without paying.
And yeah, I watch too many detective series, but it could very well go that way
Don’t do it. If he needs it he can come it seems shady
I sold many things via 2dehands or facebook market, even electronic stuff over 300 euro/item and i never go and meet the buyer in a weird location. Or he comes to my place (after i get convinced is not a scam) or we meetup somewhere public. Dont go to shady places and addresses, the seller set the terms and the serious buyer accepts them. In conclusion, if it feels shady, it is shady! So dont go
Tell him he can meet you at a police station to exchange goods.
If you go, don’t go alone just to be sure. Could also be they won’t be there tomorrow and are prepping you for the “courier scam”
It’s a scam
“i need this phone urgent because my phone not working”
This has all the signs of a scam or robbery. The “urgent” part is the classic way to trick someone.
And if his phone is not working, how is he contacting you?
Ignore this one and don’t go.
Don’t do it bro.
Do u enjoy ur organs?
I had the same kind of conversation on 2dehands regarding a hiking pants. Seller didn’t want me to tell me where he lived until the moment i was in my car and called him. The whole thing didn’t feel right. I managed to talk him in to meeting somewhere public but in the end didn’t trust that either. In the end I had him drop it off at my house and paid it at the front door. It was all ok, he was just a very weird guy.
I once trusted someone on 2dehands who actually gave her adress and phone number, she said i could call her if i didnt trust it, so i thought she could be trusted and didnt bother to call.
I paid the price of an item with a bank transfer, and she would send the item once i paid.
She never responded anymore, and a few days later the account was banned cause of suspicious activities, so she probably did the same with many others.
If there is 1 thing i learned is that nobody can be trusted when buying/selling used items. If u sell something, the buyer either agrees to your demands, or u dont sell at all. In your case, going to a place that the buyer decides and doesnt even want to say the location a day upfront just seems fishy to me.
Super sketchy, you are going to get robbed
Don’t do it. This has shady written all over it.
Avoid. Block their number
Lmao fuck that. Even if he’s legit, make him come pick it up. What a lazy motherfucker. Block his ass.
yeah, red flag. dont do that
Don’t give him the phone till he gives u the money
People setting their own terms on how and where YOU are selling YOUR phone to them, while calling you ‘brother’ constantly. Hard pass.
OP, tell us that you won’t go. This is too shady. I wouldn’t even offer to meet somewhere else because of how shady he is.
Don’t do it, I am genuinely worried for you. It’s not worth the risk.
Your product your rules. Follow your gut brother.
Shady as f if you ask me brother
Fuck no! Or take like 30 hooligans with you and beat this weirdo’s ass up 😉
Only meet in public locations. Honestly, unless very unpractical, I wouldn’t even let anyone come to my house when I sell them something. You never know who you are inviting and your home is a sacret place full of all your valuables.
If someone starts calling me bro and brother I’m out.
Zou zeker niet gaan man , is sowieso een scam

“It’s urgent, my phone doesn’t work”

I am the stranger bro. Don’t do it I Will Rob you bro.
Do Belgium police stations have a meetup & trade spot? If so that’s always a great option
My friend was selling a used iPhone on FB Marketplace a few days ago and she took many precautions but when she went to the address, firstly she was told to go a little further down the street and then three young men tried robbing the phone.
The bro is an instant block for me.
I’ve had similar situations like this before. But my gut always tells me that if people start asking for stuff like this, it’s better to move on. Especially when it’s over €100. Best case scenario you drive there, get the €100 and move on. Worst case, you’ll get beat up and maybe even robbed. I’m sure other people will come along that show interest in the phone.
Tell me how it went brother
Waarom praten jullie Engels?
(some) police stations have meeting areas, I suggest you pick a station close to him for the exchange
I learned this from a buddy that had a bad experience. Always meet in the parking lot of a police station. There’s always cops around. They’ve got cameras everywhere and if you’re dealing with a criminal they won’t come anywhere near a police station.
Update so far:
Have a location, seems like a normal house on a relatively busy street. Nothing seemingly shady about it.
However, I don’t have a time yet. His “boss needs to give him the money first”. I told him 6pm max, otherwise I’m not going.
*If* I go, I’ll be bringing 1 person with me
Looking at how he talks, he appears NOT to be from Belgium, so i would advise against selling to this guy, i’m not from Belgium either and i know people from my country by the way they speak. You live in a sophisticated country, delivery services are plentiful, and if he can’t wait then don’t sell it to him, plain and simple.

Police station parking lot or no deal
