Money laundering done right: An old tradition in Switzerland is to wash all your gold coins in a big tub in your garden on a sunday in april. It means to wash away the sins and is an omen for good luck

  1. I love that tradition. Personally after washing my gold coins I like to enjoy a nice roasted cat. Be careful not flush your toilet on Sundays though. That’ll land you in jail.

  2. Old traditions are out, it’s time for new traditions. I do it every Sunday. So much sinning in this world, once a year doesn’t cut it anymore.

Okay, that’s an excuse. Truth is, I just want to spend more quality time with my gold darlings. Am I the only one who gave them names?

  3. > having a house with a garden

damn must be an old tradition.

I’ll take a modernized approach to this and I’ll wash my credit card in my kitchen sink

  4. Ah distinctly I remember. When my uncle unfortunately dropped a silver pre-1968 5.- coin into the wash, the consequences where harder than at a lost bread in Fondue event…

  5. Thank you to the kind person who gave this post this amazing award! May your life be full of endless amounts of coins and I wish you a very happy coin washing (if you didnt do it already! only one week left to do it).

As a token of appreciation here is an image of my grandfather taking a bath with his modest coin collection:

  6. I’d really love to practice this tradition with the fellow Swiss and wash all of my golden coins, but I’m missing this kind of “tub”. I think I might not be able to afford one..
