I hate when the Baltics (and other regions/countries) are referred as ex-Soviet or being part of Soviet Union. They were sovereign countries forcibly occupied by Soviet Union, it’s hardly the same thing. Calling it anything but that can give an impression that these countries were somehow breakaway states of the Soviet Union.
