MPs condemn Frasers Group’s use of facial recognition cameras in stores

  1. Time to flood them with subject access requests and report every time they fail to provide the data or do it late.

  2. Frasers Group has never been an ethical company though. They search staff before they leave at the end of their shift and have a turnover rate rivalled only by 10 Downing Street. It is a company run by Mike Ashley for heaven’s sake, of course they are going to try out controversial policies.

  3. But it’s their stores. If they post a notice then it’s up to you if you want to go in or not, a sort of implied contract. Just as they do now with cameras. I used to work on Oxford street and gangs of shoplifters were constantly going up and down the street. They would be followed by cameras and the information shared between stores. If the data is accurate then there’s little you can do about it.
