Been living in Poland for some years, this is the first time I saw something like this, and it does not look legit. Can a developer just put up a sign like that over administrative cost dispute, effectively cutting half the neighbourhood off from parking beyond the sign on an otherwise empty part of the street?

It happened in Kraków, which is a marvellous city.

Can someone let me know, if this is against the law?

  1. If it is a private road, the owner can do whatever the hell they want. If its a public road (and it does seem so, although I would have to check) the city is in charge of the signage.

    Depending on what the case is here, you can complain to the city.

    But in general parking for residents with specific ID card is very common everywhere in poland.
