I genuinely feel sorry for the animal and the person driving the car in this situation. If there is a way to ban the use of sulkys on the road, I’m for it.

I think this particular aspect of that culture is one that should be widely condemned. It’s incredibly dangerous, both to the participant and the wider public, is cruel and inhumane to the animal, both in and of the act itself and with the aftermath, and shows a callous distain for human and animal life alike in general
As per usual, there will be no real consequences for this, and the taxpayer will foot the bill. What’s more, the post will likely be deleted shortly because of “racism,” which is tenuous at best, considering that this aspect of this culture happens on a regular basis. Nowhere else in Europe would tolerate such practices, literally nowhere, yet here, it’s not only tolerated but tacitly encouraged in the sense that there are never any consequences for it and certain elements will shout down any meaningful discussion because “its their culture and to say otherwise is racist towards protected minority groups.”

Drove passed a garda with a speed camera yesterday just off six cross roads with the chap in picture ahead of me going up the main road and off into a roundabout without stopping forcing cars to break hard as he and a little 10 year old sat on it and the poor horse, but its better off now no more suffering. What they do is criminal neglect of animals and nothing ever done. It boils my blood and the fact that id get a speeding ticket yesterday while he totally ignored the chap and sulky going passed. I feel so sorry for the driver knowing its after killing this animal innocently and also that there car could be badly damaged.
Just wanna say that the other day, a road near me which is frequently used for sulkies, an unmarked garda actually had one of the cunts pulled over for a talking to. Nice to see that there’s at least one out there that isn’t afraid to have a chat with them.
It should be banned unless they have some sort of licence. Licence would mean proper stables and random animal welfare checks. Any races on public roads they lose their license for life. Any cart that is found without a licenced owner should be confiscated and destroyed
My mum was stopped at a traffic light and these little shits were on one of those tine traps attached to a horse and they were going so fast that the horse ended up crashing into the back of the car. It’s front hooves smashed through the back window.
I don’t even know how that happened.
It was two small kids and they ran off and left the horse there.
The insurance company were refusing to pay for the replacement window but she ended up calling up some local politicians and making heaps of complaints because they don’t do anything to stop these bastards causing chaos on the roads and got it paid for in the end.

If you are claiming that horses are an important aspect of your culture then the abject cruelty subjected on them through illegal sulky racing should be antithetical to everything you stand for.
Unless of course it’s not the horses. Unless you’re more interested in the racing and the betting, so this makes the horse simply a consumable, a commodity that’s literally worn into the ground and discarded.
Look at cultures who actually love horses and compare them to what you see in that picture
There was a protest today at the grand national about cruelty to horses, that group need to protest hear. See if they could stop it.
We need politicians with the teeth to tackle this. The vast majority of the public would support a full ban on sulkies, if only politicians would have the courage to listen

My parents live on a private road which has a few families living on it. There’s a lot of young kids playing on the road and usually only people who live there drive down there and are all aware of the children and take care while driving. Recently these cunts have been going up and down the road horses shitting all over the place and they not giving a flying fuck who’s out there. My dad went to gaurds to report it and they told him the horses have been on the roads longer than cars and have just as much right to be on the road.
