I’ve booked a ticket from Prague to Munich on EX358 for 45 EUR. Somehow, I’m not getting a reservation seat as it looked to be fully booked.
This is the first time I’m going to board a DB train, I did board S-Bahn, U-Bahn in Berlin.
I’m wondering, will I get a seat to sit?
Which compartment or boggy of the train have I to board?
It was saying something like first come first serve basis, If I get a seat to sit, how will I decide which seat to sit at? I was going to prefer for a window seat but no luck!
Also, I’ve a checkin bag and a cabin bag (in flight baggage terms), am I allowed to keep those bags with me?
Thanks a lot for your help.
**Edit:** I booked it on DB Navigator App.
Also, attaching the screenshot from Omio App, that shows it to be a DB train! Please feel free to correct me, if it’s not the case.

If there are going to be free seats you get a seat, if not then not.

Sure
That’s a Czech train number. So no idea if they fully sell out all possible seat reservations or not.
above the seats there are small displays which show you, if there is a reservation for the seat or not. if the seat is blocked from a later station, you can sit there, until the train arrives there.
As far as I understand it’s either a Czech train or from Bayern. Their [website ](https://www.laenderbahn.com/alex/service/faq/) says that it’s not possible to make a seat reservation (Ist eine Sitzplatzreservierung im alex möglich?
Eine Sitzplatzreservierung ist nicht möglich). So if there will be free seats you can use it, if not – then not 🤷♂️
Maybe. If the train is not full, then yes, you can use any seat that doesn’t display a reservation. And yes, there are luggage racks above your head or somewhere in the car (or under the seat in front of you, if it fits).
It really depends on how many people are using the train at that time. Some commuter trains are totally overloaded, and it’s hard to even get to your seat if you DO have a reservation, and other trains are almost empty and you can sit anywhere.
Just be sure to stay in the 2nd class area – if you sit in 1st class (where more seats are usually available) without a 1st class ticket, the conductors will send you back to 2nd class (and not be very friendly about it).
You may have to move about a bit on the journey and move from one reserved seat to another as you travel.
