[Paul Murphy] Far right protesting outside our home right now. We were literally preparing to give our newborn baby a bath.

  1. I can’t stand the little bollox but no way is that on. That isn’t even protesting it’s thuggery.

  2. Why do they only protest TD’s in nice areas? If this was the TD where I grew up they’d be praying the guards pick them up before a different van picked them up. It’s the usual big men when they know they are safe.

  3. I can’t stand him and his hard left politics but he doesn’t deserve this. I hope the guards arrive and haul those utter gobshites off for creating a public nuisance.

  4. Not that I condone this behavior at all, but Paul is the one who led a protest trapping Joan Burton in a car for three hours back in 2014, so this kind of behavior is in his wheel house, or was in the past. Does put a focus on the need for protection for politicians though

  5. Siri, pull up all the times Paul and his mates argued for ambushing and haranguing government ministers/landlords/anyone else he didn’t like outside their gaff.

  6. Regardless of your politics I hope we can all agree this isn’t on.

Paul Murhpy is a despicable piece of shit but protesting outside his home is indefensible.

  7. They (the far right) don’t really care about children. Even though they claim to care about children.

The protest was probably to distract from the fact that known far right agitator Derek Blighe was (ALLEGEDLY!!!!) sexting a 14 year old.

  8. I feel like there is something distinctly unsavoury about picketing a person’s residence as opposed to their place of work.

It’s approaching real scumbag tactics as far as I’m concerned.

  9. I don’t see how this is a right wing move. This isn’t the United States where they operate with two political parties and a black & white approach to everything remotely political. This is simply harassment.

That said, !fuck me! if raising a child as gender neutral isn’t the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, while simultaneously being the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of people protesting against.

Out of interest, at what age does the child have the “authority” to decide it’s own gender? Must they wait until they are 18?

  10. Ironic coming from the professional activist. Paul spends more time attending and organising protests than he does in the dail

  11. No fan of Paul Murphy or 99% of politicians but there is very, very rarely a need, excuse or reason to be protesting outside another person’s home.

Country is polarising badly and the loons on both sides think they run the place.

And in fairness to Murphy he’s not the worst and tries to help the less well off. Mightn’t agree with all of his views or his personal choices but they are entitled to make them.

  12. Leopards ate my face moment. Far left nutter politician that harasses other politicians going about their daily life gets harassed in his daily life by far right nutters.

  13. Why are they protesting outside his house? If you’re against government policy shouldn’t you go and protest outside the Dail?

  14. Paul Murphy and PBP had previously zero issues with protesting outside TDs homes but “its different when it’s me”. It was all gravy when he was egging it on.
As much as I hate these far right clowns I hate the likes of Paul murphy more. Never has any solutions, all sound bytes , runs around with microphones at protests egging everyone on and when it escalates “that’s terrible nothing to do with me”
