‘voted’ is debatable. If there’s no dissent there’s no vote
So he didn’t vote on it, propose it or second it.
He was just in the room.
So considering there wasn’t a vote, aren’t we getting into defamation here.
So they’ve published another misleading story then. They are not journalists, they are Cosgrave’s lapdogs.
There’s been a lot of people claiming he wasn’t married at the time, which made the whole thing okay. However, he was married and it turned out his Wikipedia page was wrong and is now updated to 2000.
I dunno when people started looking into Collins different shenanigans, but his wife’s name was added to his page in January 2017 and then the incorrect “2010” date was added in January 2018.
Maybe it’d be conspiracy theory stuff to claim that it was a deliberate misdirect. I don’t know enough about him. Just thought it’d be interesting to look up given how many people have been arguing over this marriage date in the previous Collins/Ditch threads.
Edit: the page history for context: [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Niall_Collins&action=history&offset=&limit=500](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Niall_Collins&action=history&offset=&limit=500)
Usual names coming out to the defend.
I wonder what their vested interest is.
Broken, country full of nepotism is broken.
So are the ditch just outing their own incompetence or lack of reading comprehension?
Two of the ditch’s founders are compromised by involvement in Russian and Chinese state media respectively.
We’re asking the wrong questions.
The whole story sounds like some disgruntled local is unhappy about the land sale. We’re not seeing that side of the story though. Perhaps they didn’t want housing there, or social housing? The description of the site as a children’s play area is obviously laughable but points to an agenda to prevent anything being built there. Good journalism would explore that angle.
So a 2003 newspaper article is wrong also?
The man has lied multiple times on planning applications, his wife has some shady land stuff with different names, his uncle doesn’t like paying tax ( might run in the family seeing as the family has been involved in politics for years), he was involved in the whole votegate shit. The dude is slimey as fuck but apparently bulletproof. It’s right to drag him across the hot coals and get more shady shit out in the light
