Switzerland evacuates Sudan embassy

  1. Personally I find it a bit concerning that Switzerland lacks the military and logistical capabilities to evacuate its citizens without foreign assistance. We do have the personnel but we don’t have the means to get them where they’re needed. Would the additional budget for one or two transport planes really be too much in the grand scheme of things?

  2. Switzerland is happy to rely on European countries for its foreign intervention, but is « neutral » when allowing other countries to re-export Swiss weapons. Good joke.
it would have been fun if other countries stopped doing Air Surveillance and Military assistance since Switzerland is neutral.

  3. For once the military could actually be useful, and we lack the capabilities… Instead of buying jet planes we could get a cargo / transport aircraft.

  4. switlerzland is a neutral state, is not supposed to have high yield transport airplanes, to project their military into other countries.

the small scale jets they have is enough, obviously is cheaper to pay the germans or whatever for the free seats they have, than sending an entire contingency to take out a couple of people

  5. This thread … People bitch about the fact that the Swiss doesn’t have Transport Aircraft like the Italians do with their C-130 or the French with their A-400. We do international corporation so therefore “niemert chunnt z’churz”. Yet people see it as wrong & ask the “bu but but Neutralität” question, but at the other hand people bitch about the fact that the Swiss don’t have these type of transporters (for what anyway?)
